Write a newspaper report on Pilgrims' death in Nashik-Kumbha snan, using the following points :
(i) The tragedy: 40 including 27 women killed and 150 others mostly women and children injured.

(iii) Place: city of Nashik, Maharashtra
(iv) Cause: by stampede, trying to reach the holy bathing ghat ahead of others
(v) Compensation announced.

40 DIE IN KUMBH STAMPEDE
Nashik, May 20 : At least 40 pilgrims including 27 women killed and 150 others injured in a stampede at Ram Kund, Nashik, around 1.30 p.m. today when lakhs of bathers converged on the site for 'shahi snan', the ritual holy dip. The injured, mostly women and children, were rushed to the nearby hospitals. Iron-rail barricades had been placed in the maze of lanes leading up to the bathing ghats. Everybody wanted to reach Ram Kund ahead of others. The catastrophe occurred when the barricades collapsed under the force of the onrush of devotees in Sardar Chowk. According to the city police, some 'sants' threw silver coins and toffees at the pilgrims, starting a mad scramble. The Maharashtra government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the tragedy. The government also announced rupees two lakh each for the families of those killed and promised suitable compensation to the those injured .
