Neeraj Chopra

Neeraj Chopra was born on 24th December 1997. He completed his education at DAV College, Chandigarh. Neeraj Chopra served as Subedar in the Indian Army. He started his journey in a gymnasium at Madlauda. After that, he was later enrolled in a gym in SAI, Panipat. In 2013, Neeraj Chopra entered into his first international competition, the World Youth Championships in Ukraine. He won gold medals in World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Championships, South Asian Games, World Junior Championships. He won a silver medal in Asian Junior Championships. Recently he got huge popularity after winning the gold medal in Olympic Games, in Tokyo, Japan.  This throw was about 87.58 meters. He won several national awards such as Arjuna Award, Vishist Seva Medal, Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. On 27 August 2021 the Army Sports Institute stadium of Pune was renamed as "Neeraj Chopra Stadium".
