1. Rabindranath Tagore

Facts: 

  1. Rabindranath Tagore was the first Asian/Non-European to receive the Nobel Prize. 
  2. He got the Nobel prize for Gitanjali or Song Offerings.
  3. Tagore was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. 
  4. He spent most of his life in Shantiniketan, Bolpur. 
  5. There he established Visva Bharati University at Shantiniketan.
