FIRE DESTROYS MARKET

Kolkata, February 23, 2020 : A devastating fire broke out in the new market area. The large portion of the market was destroyed very badly by the fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Fifteen engines rushed to the market and fought the fire for about four hours to bring it under control. The fire sources said the fire spread with uncontrolled rapidity because of the highly inflammable materials present in so many stores in the market. Nobody is reported either injured or killed. But the fire has made the future of many store owners quite uncertain. Authorities, however, have announced some relief packages for shop owners affected by the fire.
